Saturday Morning: Soul Care with Judy Cairns
In a world that is very fractured right now, more than ever we need to do the deep work of caring for our souls. What exactly is a soul? Why does it need care? In this biblically based course, we will discuss why caring for our souls is so important, what Jesus has to say about it, and how soul care forms and shapes us to become more like Christ in our spiritual faith journeys. We will consider some practical and relevant spiritual practices to embrace while we live in these unprecedented times when we feel our souls are being stretched beyond what we ever imagined. As we become aware of the absolute necessity of nourishing the inner interior of our lives and creating intentional space in our lives for God, it will prove to be a testimony of His amazing grace in our lives as we journey with Him.
Judy Cairns delights to build into the lives of women, helping them to reach their God-given potential and deepen their walk with the Lord. She has served on the staff of her church in Kitchener, Ont., both as Ministry Assistant and Director of Women’s Ministries. She is a graduate of Arrow Leadership and was the Director of the Women’s Ministries Institute (WMI) from 2006-2021. Three simple words describe the priorities in her life, “Faith, Family and Friends”. Judy is an avid reader and collector of books, has discovered the transforming power of journaling and is presently attempting to write her spiritual memoir. She also appreciates the quiet challenge of a jigsaw puzzle. Judy has 3 married children and 8 amazing grandchildren. She resides in Cambridge, ON.
Saturday Afternoon: Spiritual Formation with Brenda Clark
“…You created my inmost being…You knit me together…I am fearfully and wonderfully made…Your works are wonderful, I know that full well.” Psalm 139:13,14
Do you? Do you know that full well?
Do you see the strengths you have as gifts from God, or do you tend to focus on your weaknesses? Together, let’s find out which personality tendencies we have and how God uses our spiritual gifts and unique personalities to fulfill His purposes. You may be surprised how knowing this helps us in our everyday lives with families, careers, churches and in leadership.
As a retired massage therapist and lover of people, Brenda Clark has enjoyed taking many courses and learning about the different personality types. God has given her a passion for encouraging others in appreciating the gifts God has given them and discovering the purposes He has for them. Whether mentoring women through Bible study or teaching her own children, Brenda enjoys weaving this information into the discussion.
Brenda lives in the Kawartha Lakes with her husband Adam, where she homeschools her children and is active in her church. Brenda loves reading, decorating and taking road trips with her family.
