Saturday Morning: Soul Care with Judy Cairns
Inner transformation is a life-long process. Each student will gain a balanced, biblical understanding of some of the Christian disciplines that will assist her in that journey, particularly the discipline of journaling.
This course will help each student develop an ongoing authentic relationship with God as she focuses on understanding the absolute necessity of caring for her soul throughout her spiritual faith journey with the Lord.
Judy Cairns teaches the introductory course Soul Care: Tending Our Inner Life. One of her greatest joys is to build into the lives of women, helping them reach their leadership potential as well as grow deeper in their walk with the Lord.
Judy has served on the staff of her church, Grandview Baptist in Kitchener ON, both as Ministry Assistant and Director of Women’s Ministries. She is a graduate of Arrow Leadership, the Executive Stream. For many years now, Judy has discovered the transforming power of journal keeping. She is also an avid reader. Judy has 3 married children and 8 grandchildren. She resides in Cambridge, ON.
Saturday Afternoon: Spiritual Formation with Deanna Harris
“…You created my inmost being…you knit me together…I am fearfully and wonderfully made…your works are wonderful, I know that full well.” Psalm 139:13,14
Do you? Do you know that full well?
Spiritual Formation will be an opportunity to examine just who it is that God has knit you together to be. Together we will look at the threads of our individual personality tendencies, our spiritual gifts, and the Word of God to discover who we were each created to be.
Deanna Harris was a graduate of the Women’s Ministries Institute in 2007. In the fall of 2007 she enthusiastically joined the WMI Ministry Leadership Team. Her experience with WMI has developed both her confidence and awakened her passion to use the gifts that God has given her. Deanna enjoys opportunities to teach from God’s Word, and to meet with women to encourage and exhort them in their walk with God.
She and her husband Steve live in the north end of Hamilton, ON. They have 3 children, and enjoy serving at their church, Hughson Street Baptist, where they have attended since the late 1990s.
